Manuscript Guidelines

GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS

The author(s) should ensure originality of the article and ensure that the submitted manuscript has not been published previously and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. A cover letter should clearly identify the author’s name (with designation, address, phone, fax, e-mail address) responsible for correspondence.

Two hard copies along with a soft copy through email (editorjard@bou.ac.bd) should be submitted, typed in English (Times New Roman; 11 Font). Margin should be well defined (Left 2.00, Right 1.00, Top 1.50 and Bottom 1.00 inches), in A-4 size paper. Pages should be numbered chronologically. The article should not exceed 15 journal pages including tables, figures and/or references.

Title Page

The title page should include the title of the article, authors’ names and affiliations, complete mailing address, e-mail and telephone number of the corresponding author who will revise the proof and suggest running title.

Abstract

The abstract should appear on the second page of the manuscript. The title should also be written at the top of the abstract. The abstract should not exceed 150 words.

Keywords

A list of 3–6 keywords should be provided directly below the abstract. Keywords should reflect the precise content of the manuscript.

Body of the Manuscript

The body of the manuscript should include Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusion.

Acknowledgement

All acknowledgements including grant and financial support should be typed in one separate paragraph preceding the reference section.

References

Literature cited in the text should follow the author-date citation style such as:(Sardar, 2003),(Sardar and Sarker, 2003),or(Sardar et al., 2003).

Journal Article Example:

Sardar, M.A. & Sarker, K.R. (1988). Bioassay of pesticides on the life stages of red mite, Tetranychus bioculatus (Wood-Mason). Acarologia 29(3), 279-284.
Proceedings Paper Example:

Internet Source Example:

Book Example:

Tables

Tables should be typed on different sheets and numbered consecutively. Tables should be self-explanatory and include a brief descriptive title.

Illustrations / Figures / Photographs

Illustrations should be prepared clearly using computer software and should be ready for publication. A brief legend should be provided for every figure and photograph on a separate sheet. The place of inclusion of figures in the text should be clearly indicated.

Number of tables, illustrations and photographs should be kept to a minimum. The same results should not be presented both in tables and figures.

Short Communications

Short Communications should contain concise descriptions of objectives, methods, results and discussion without separate headings. These manuscripts should not exceed two journal pages.

Additional Information

  • All measurements must be given in metric units.
  • Authors will receive galley proofs for correction.
  • No new matter should be inserted during proof reading.
  • No paper will be accepted if it does not follow the journal style.
  • Ten copies of reprint will be supplied free of charge.
  • The Author(s) must submit a copyright form in favor of BOU.
  • Maximum 4 authors are allowed per manuscript.
  • For science and experimental research articles, up to 5 authors may be accepted.

Disclaimer

No paper will be accepted for publication if it does not conform to the style specified for the Journal.
